The Goose Girl - Love and the True Self
In this show we will meditate on the fairy tale called “The Goose Girl”. We will discover how this fairy tale is a symbolic externalization of one of the main inner conflicts that occurs in the soul of the person seeking love.

CONTEMPLATIVE ART WORKSHOP
CONTEMPLATIVE ART
PRACTICES
Sean Kramer, 8 Weeks
Wednesday 6 – 9, June 1- July 20
Tuition $310 Materials Fee $75
http://www.sanctuaryarts.org/sa_9.html
The sessions of this workshop will be pleasantly spent mediating and doing art meditatively. We will begin each class working with our body, breath and mind. Then we will try a variety of contemplative art practices: mandalas and yantras, spontaneous and intuitive art making, working with symbols, drawing our journey, surrealist techniques, and more. The emphasis will be on the process, art as a meditative practice, letting go of the inner critic.

Fresco Weekend Workshop
FRESCO PAINTING
Sean Kramer, One Weekend
Saturday & Sunday, 9 – 4, July 16 & 17
Sanctuary Arts, Eliot, Maine
http://www.sanctuaryarts.org/sa_8.html
The ancient art of fresco painting has been practiced for millennia. The oldest paintings we have evidence of are kinds of fresco. In this course students will work on small scale true fresco projects. They will learn to apply the fresco lime plaster to tile, brick, even walls at home. Fresco painting is done by applying pure pigments to wet plaster. When the plaster dries the paint becomes a permanent part of the surface, resulting in a beautiful, soft matte finish.

Yantra Workshops
One day contemplative yantra workshops:
Beginning with meditation, in the morning each participant will design a yantra, based on principles of sacred geometry. Using the basic forms of square, circle and lotus petals, triangle and point, each student will design his or her own unique yantra. In the afternoon the yantras will be painted, using paints hand-made from natural earths and gem stones.
"Yantra" means 'energy-tool'. The Sanskrit ending '-tra' means instrument or tool--'mantra' means mind ('man') tool; 'yantra' means 'yan' (energy) tool. A yantra is a kind of mandala whose lines and patterns and colors are tools for organizing and expressing our own energy aligned with the energy of the cosmos and the divine.
The yantras will be made on plastered wood panels, using egg-tempera paint, a technique known as fresco secco.
The workshops usually run from 9am to 5pm. The cost is $90 for each student (all materials are included).
